English Games Club

English Games Club

Aim of the English Games Club? – To give learners the opportunity to practice spoken language fluency, with a native speaker, thereby developing their vocabulary and confidence.

How is this achieved? – Learners may bring their own game, or use the games on site, to play with the group. The only rule is that only English is spoken during this time.

Who can participate? – This club is for children aged 4–16.

When is a session created? – A session will be held once a group of 2-5 learners have committed to a time slot. Ideally, learners should be of similar age and language proficiency, or friends.

Where is a session held? – Ērģeme, in a dedicated classroom or outside in the garden.

When is a session held? – As long as the day and time has not already been filled, I can adapt my schedule to fit parent working schedules. Priority will be given to parents that can ensure a weekly commitment. I will hold a maximum of 10 sessions a week.

What games can learners play? – learners can bring their own games to play with the group. I am building my catalogue of board games, and gladly accept recommendations. For the moment, I have the following games.

Mists on Carcassonne (+8 and up)
Letter Jam
Just One (+8 and up)
Codenames (+14 and up)

How much does it cost? – 10€ per child. The first session is free. Summer sessions last 75 minutes. This is to give parents travel time (15min) around the 1 hr session.
